September 8, 1952 – January 11, 2022
Tony passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 11, as a result of complications of cancer.
Tony was a devoted husband to Phyllis, his wife, of 45 years. He was an amazing father to his son, Nick, and daughter, Tracy, and he never missed an opportunity to lavish affection on his four grandchildren – Ryder, Rylee, Isabel, and Rennon. Tony was the eldest son of JD and Connie Duran, and is survived by his six siblings – Irene, Eddie, Patti, David, Julie, Linda – numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Tony was an incredible man and the impact and loyalty of his friendship goes beyond words. He was a fan of all sports and teams, especially the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Golden Knights. His support had nothing to do with the teams’ ability to perform, it was simply unwavering team spirit. He was also a passionate golfer and always had his clubs at the ready for a round with a cigar, and a beer.
Tony was an independent small business owner and general contractor, owning and operating A Duran Construction for more than 30 years in the Las Vegas community.
A remembrance of Tony’s life is being planned for Saturday, January 29, at 5850 Ponderosa Way, Las Vegas, NV.
The Duran family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a GoFundMe page established by friends of the family – https://gofund.me/4bb72517 – to support the transition of his business to his family.
