

Arcola F. Stafford passed away leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, leadership, education, and compassion. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to uplifting others and making a lasting difference in her community.
Arcola was a founding board member of the SPEAR Foundation, where she faithfully served for more than 30 years. Her wisdom, integrity, and steadfast commitment helped shape the organization’s mission and establish a foundation that continues to empower and support others today.
A devoted educator, Arcola spent 35 years teaching and inspiring young people. She believed deeply in the potential of every student and worked tirelessly to encourage growth, confidence, and leadership. Though she had no children of her own, she served as a mentor and role model to countless young people whose lives were enriched by her guidance and encouragement. She was especially passionate about creating leadership opportunities for girls in the Las Vegas community.
Arcola’s dedication to teaching extended beyond the classroom. Family members remember her generosity, patience, and willingness to invest in others. Her nephew fondly recalled learning to play tennis under her instruction as a young boy, a reflection of the care and attention she gave to those she loved.
She was a proud Life Member and Cultured Pearl of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., having joined in 1969, and a distinguished alumna of Philander Smith College. Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and excellence.
Arcola will be remembered by her family, friends, Sorors, fellow board members, former students, and all whose lives she touched. Her legacy lives on through the many people she inspired, the opportunities she helped create, and the example she set through a life of purpose and service.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her contributions, kindness, and enduring influence will continue to inspire generations to come.
