

Arthur Lewis Atherton, passed away at the age of 82 on March 8, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Arthur was born on February 29, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. He spent 38 years with Union Pacific Railroad starting in 1950 as an Office Boy Clerk and Gardner Baggageman. In 1952, he became a Switchman/Brakeman, Yard Master, then back to Brakeman out of Las Vegas. He enjoyed helping his children race quarter midgets. After retiring, he devoted his time to making sure that his wife Priscilla was always taken care of. Art enjoyed his regular trips to California to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Priscilla, whom he was married to for 25 years; sister Patricia Ellington; son Stanley Atherton; daughters Linda Castro and Penny Myers; along with stepsons Allan Viliborghi and Edwin Johnson. He leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on March 13, 2014 from 12pm to 2pm with funeral services being held immediately afterward at Palm Eastern Mortuary on 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
