Arturo A. Ramudo

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of our patriarch, Arturo Ramudo, on October 27, 2022 at the age of 84.

He was born, Arturo Angel Riveron Ramudo, on March 1,1938 in Havana, Cuba to Arturo and Andreina Ramudo. Educated in the parochial system at La Salle all boys school. After graduating he began his studies to be an accountant, unfortunately Fidel Castro closed all universities after his second year.

Arturo, turned to the gaming industry where at 19, he became the delegate for the dealers union. The same year he met the love of his life, Hilda, on a blind date. They married August 2, 1959. Their first child, Gloria, was born in 1960. In 1961, Arturo, took his young family away from the turmoil in his own country and landed in Miami, FL. There he worked tirelessly to bring the rest of his family to the states. In 1962 their second child, Arturo ”Artie”, was born. In 1963 he decided on one more move and left Miami for Las Vegas, where they stayed and raised their family.

He worked in the gaming industry for the next forty years. He worked at many of the casinos, starting with the Thunderbird, then the Sahara where he was part of the original crew of dealers to deal baccarat on the Strip. He went on to open the original MGM Grand and many more. He retired at 65 from Caesars Palace.

For many years after retirement, he and Hilda traveled, seeing much of Europe, southern half of the US, some of Canada and even Russia. In March of this year, Arturo, lost the love of life, the center of his universe, Hilda. Fighting the devastating loss and Alzheimer’s was too much and the illness won.

Arturo is survived by his two children: Gloria Kalarchik and Arturo Ramudo(Shirley), his five grandchildren: Erik Kalarchik(Kimberley), Shianne “Shay” Kalarchik, Bryan Kalarchik(Chelsey), Ana Ramudo, and Antonio “Tony” Ramudo, his two great grandchildren: Illyana “Illy” Kalarchik and Wyatt Kalarchik and cousin: Armando “Mandy” Garcia.

He will be deeply missed and always remembered with love in our hearts. Our prayers and support to all Alzheimer's victims and their families. Many thanks to all the friends and family support at this so difficult time.

A visitation for Arturo will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 1009 - Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A committal will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
