Barbara Jean Santana

Service will begin promptly at 11am, with a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall at Green Valley Baptist Church.

Barbara Santana is survived by her daughter Bonnie and son in-law David Russell, son John Barnett (deceased) her sister Bonnie Keltner, her grandchildren Zachary, and his wife Michelle, Katie and Justin Peterson, Demi and Ron Fisher.

She was blessed with two beloved great granddaughters through which her legacy will live, Jaylynn Estrada and Giavanna Peterson.

Her legacy of love will continue to grow through her extended family's the Russell Family- David Jr., Tara,Trey and Grant Russell and the Thompson Family- Tim, Kelly, Parker and Nancy.

Barbara had numerous nieces and nephews and enjoyed a lifetime of beautiful, loving friends, although not all mentioned...know you were loved.

She cherished the title's of grandma & great-grandma to both, Jaylynn and Giavanna and thanked God often for the precious gifts of witnessing thier births, being part of their milestones and watching them grow into the precious souls they are today, and delighted in any opportunity to see them whether in person or via Facetime.

Barbara had unending love and affection for her daughter, grand children and great grandchildren, to include Trey, Grant and Parker...know that grandma, great grandma and Nana will forever be smiling upon you from heaven.

As many of you know, Barbara went by the name 'Nana', to Trey & Grant Russell and Parker Thompson a title she wore proudly and humbly. Barbara had the blessed opportunity to care for and help raise these beautiful souls, a task she loved and one that brought her heart great joy.

Thank you for the precious memories, Trey, Grant and Parker.

Barbara was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, she had a very personal relationship with her savior, and was humbled by the blessings that He had bestowed upon her life in the way of her strong Christian upbringing, God-fearing parents and family who instilled within her heart the importance of salvation and following Christ.

Barbara had the gift of being bold about her faith and love for the Lord.

She prayed daily for her family, friends and those she never met.

Barbara witnessed the power of prayer and the healing that comes prayer, within her own life and the lives of her daughter, and grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends.

She knew that with God anything was possible and that without Him nothing would be.

She found peace in knowing God has the final word.

Barbara was a long standing member of Green Valley Baptist Church in Henderson, NV. where she attended numerous bible studies throughout the years and volunteered with a joyful heart in a variety of GVBC social events and celebrations. She enjoyed being a member of the choir, and never missed a rehearsal or an opportunity to lift her voice in praise, and she accomplished this well. We smile to imagine her is singing and rejoicing with the choir of angels now.

Barbara adored her church-family and friends and looked forward to seeing them and connecting with them as often as she could.

Barbara was also a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary Board for the Salvation Army, an organization very near & dear to her heart. She assisted in facilitating many charitable events throughout the LV Valley. And took great happiness knowing her time and efforts were serving those in need and that she could be a part of that, brought her so much joy.

Barbara was also active with the Las Vegas Mission, serving meals, sharing a smile and a welcome greeting, she delighted in the opportunities in these moments to share The Good News with those most in need of finding hope.

Barbara delighted in sharing a gentle touch and a prayer of encouragement to those most in need of hearing the promises of God, and the hope that comes from hearing His Word.

These acts of selfless giving and kindness beautifully illustrate her loving, giving heart.

Barbara knew that she was nearing her end, and was at peace with this, and as her light here on earth grew dim, her days became quieter and her voice softer, she continued to look up and patiently wait for His call, her room was filled with beautiful reminders of her faith and the Promises of God while her favorite worship hymns echoed near her, and prayer never ceased.

She will be missed beyond definition, but we take great comfort in knowing that that she is now in her forever-home with her savior Jesus Christ hearing the words -well done my good and faithful servant.
