Barbara was born and raised in Chicago, IL, she lived and worked in Denver, CO for many years where she and her husband Ronald Barnett raised their two children, upon her husband’s untimely death, she transferred as Toyota’s Regional Customer Relations Dir. to Torrence, CA where she assumed the position of Regional Customer Relations Training Dir. She later assumed a position that would land her in Las Vegas, NV where she lived the remainder of her life up to her retirement.
Barbara was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ all of her life, she had a very personal relationship with her savior.
Barbara was long standing member of Green Valley Baptist Church and dedicated much of her time to singing in the church choir, attending numerous bible studies and actively participating in many church and faith-based organizations. Barbara joyfully served on the Salvation Army’s Woman’s Auxiliary Board an organization very near & dear to her heart, where she helped organize & facilitate many events throughout the LV Valley. Barbara could be found on any given weekend, serving meals at the local Mission where she delighted in sharing a gentle touch along with a prayer of encouragement to a person in need of hearing the promises of God. She was a woman of strong faith and conviction who prayed fervently for her family, friends and anyone she met that asked, she expressed love every day of her life in ways that brought honor to the Lord and never missed an opportunity to tell you that she loved you. She will be missed beyond definition, but we take great comfort in knowing that that she is now in her forever-home with her savior Jesus Christ hearing the words -well done my good and faithful servant.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Bonnie, her son in law David and son John (deceased). She was grandma to Zachary, Katie, Justin Peterson and Demi and Ron Fisher. She was great grandma to Jaylynn and Giavanna, and was known as Nana to Parker Thompson and Trey & Grant Russell.
