

Barbara graduated from Milwaukee’s Pulaski High School in 1961. She was crowned Miss Wisconsin in 1962 and worked as a print, runway, and department store model, modeling wedding gowns for Marshall Fields in Milwaukee and Chicago. She married the late Roger Walsh in 1971 and welcomed their son Edward Louis Walsh to the world in 1972. Barbara worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Company and graduated from Alverno College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1978.
Barbara was a world traveler, exploring all seven continents in the course of her life. Many of her lifelong interests stemmed from her love of travel, including photography, ecological and wildlife preservation, and collecting art, unique furniture, and jewelry from her many stops around the world. She was a sports enthusiast, enjoying many years on the golf course and even winning a local championship in the early 2000’s. Barbara was a lifelong supporter of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and Marquette University High School football and wrestling. She is well known for her devotion to the Bedlington Terrier, a breed of show dogs she adopted after they retired from competition. Barbara cherished her close relationships with her large, extended family as well as with many friends from every stage of life. Her zeal for entertaining and cooking produced numerous elegant gatherings yearly, with delicious new dishes, as well as family favorites, both of which brought cheer to all and compliments to the chef.
Barbara worked in various professional sales roles throughout her life, most recently as a Cruise Specialist for Expedia. She enjoyed the benefits of the travel company, taking advantage of the many trips offered as part of her ongoing training. Recent trips to the Mediterranean and Cuba were among her favorites. Barbara was a 15-year resident of Henderson, NV and loved the casinos, entertainment, and natural beauty of the Las Vegas area.
She is survived by her son, Edward Walsh (Jennifer Simon) of Chicago, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 1; a funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, both at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV, 89123.
