Barry was born on December 1, 1944 in Elgin, Illinois to parents Janet and Howard Bolz. He spent his early years growing up as a Boy Scout in Bartlett, Illinois. Barry and his wife Kathleen Monroe married in 1970 and together they relocated to Fullerton, California. They resided there for twenty-five years before ultimately deciding to settle in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Barry was a wonderful father to three daughters, Debra, Diane and Christine, and cherished his grandchildren, Julia and Quinn, who coined the nickname “Gampy” for him. Barry will be deeply missed by his loyal dog, Cassie, whom he loved to take on walks and feed scraps from the dinner table.
Barry was very passionate about his lifetime career as an automobile mechanic before retiring in 2012. He was a daredevil who loved his fast cars and spoke fondly of memories from his motorcycle days. Barry had a heart as big as his personality and was a generous man who often devoted his time to helping his friends and family. In his free time, Barry was an avid collector and fisherman. Being the culinary enthusiast that he was, Barry enjoyed hosting dinners and barbecues with his family on the weekends.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Janet, and his brother John. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his children and grandchildren who all have many fond memories of him that will live on in their hearts forever.
Per Barry's wishes, services will be private.
