Elliot was born on February 9, 1937. He is survived by his wife Adrienne Cox and his three children: Evan Louis Cohen, Elizabeth Carole Cohen, Emily Bell Cohen, and devoted canine, Fenway Bark. He was a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy, Class of 1958 and worked as a pharmacist for over 40 years. He served his country doing the same in the Army at the base in Vicenza Italy from 1959 - 1961. As a result, he never met a chicken cacciatore he didn’t love. He was a lifelong athlete, excelling in basketball, baseball, and pretty much every other sport or activity he took up for over 60 years. Except golf; he was just okay at golf. After the age of 50 he tried downhill skiing and became remarkably competent and injury free for decades. He won numerous medals in Masters Level Swimming, a sport he didn’t even start until his 70’s. He was the undisputed king of useless knowledge, dumb humor and baseball trivia, answering the most obscure of baseball facts up until his last month on this planet. In his own subtle way, he was a teacher and mentor to his children. Under his unobtrusive guidance, we learned to shoot hoops, light fires, play chess, rack pool balls, appreciate muscle cars, swim, dive, ice skate and play racquetball. We grew to love parades, festivals, fireworks, live music and stand up comedians. Whether nature or nurture, his love of food and ability to cook made low key chefs of us all. For a good, born-and-raised Jewish kid, he made a very respectable rack of ribs and a mean lasagna. He will be missed in so many ways: heartfelt, innumerous and profound. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations can be made to his alma mater, Albany College of Pharmacy: https://www.acphs.edu/alumni/donate/
