Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 31, 1928, to Jean (née Glickman) and David Lerman, Bernice lived a long life marked by independence and determination. She married Joseph Schwartz in 1948 and worked as a purchasing agent in the medical field.
In retirement, Bernice and Joseph moved from Brooklyn to Las Vegas, where they shared a brief but wonderful chapter of their lives before Joseph’s passing in 1996.
Known affectionately as Bunny, she was a woman with a strong sense of who she was and how she wanted to live. She approached life in her own way, leaving those who knew her with lasting memories of her distinctive spirit. Her life spanned nearly a century and four generations of a close-knit family, who shared many joyous celebrations and cherished times together.
Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her daughter, Shelley Feldman, and her husband, Michael; her son, Howard Schwartz, and his wife, Donna; her grandchildren and their partners, Dylan and Erin, Marnin and Rodney, Dan and Kristine, and Erick and Candice; and her four great-grandchildren, Roman, Sara, James, and Asha Bunny.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada. Interment will follow at Palm Eastern Cemetery in Las Vegas. Arrangements are entrusted to King David Memorial.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
