Bertha Bert E Cook Ziemski

Bertha "Bert" Ziemski, 85, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2014. Bert was born in El Paso, Texas where she lived for 71 years and was a resident of Henderson, Nevada for the past 14 years. She was the beloved wife of Colonel Frank J. Ziemski for 53 years. She and Frank raised a family of four children in El Paso. Bert was a homemaker and was active in several rose and garden clubs in El Paso and served as a Texas State judge for flower arranging. She enjoyed similar activities in Las Vegas and served as President of the Sunset Garden Club where she was given an honorary Lifetime Membership award. She kept active with her church the Calvary Chapel Green Valley. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Frank and then moved to Henderson to be near three of her adult children. She is also preceded in death by her loving daughter Denise (Ziemski) Sebald, and her special son-in-law Tom McElwain. She is survived by her daughter Debbie McElwain of Henderson; son Ronald Ziemski and his wife Norma of El Paso; and son Donald and his wife Norine of Las Vegas.
