Bulaklak “Flower” Tatlonghari Agorrilla was born on December 7, 1944 in the Philippines to Apolognia and Araceli Tatlonghari. She was the youngest of four siblings: Filipina Tatlonghari, Yolanda Tatlonghari, and Bayani Tatlonghari.
During Bulaklak’s childhood, she lived with her aunt who laid undue pressure on her to become a ballerina and pursue a modeling career. Bulaklak successfully flourished in the spotlight; however, true to her fierce and honest nature, she asserted to her mother and aunt that she did not want to continue on this path as she did not find joy in it. Her mother immediately brought Bulaklak home, and she happily lived the typical childhood that she desired.
During her early 20s, Bulaklak and Alexander Agorrilla met and quickly fell in love. Like a romantic fairytale, their relationship was forbidden. At 26 years old, Bulaklak eloped with Alex, and three days after, she immigrated to the U.S. for the first time due to her visa expiring. When Bulaklak arrived in the U.S., she was anxious and worried with the unknown, and she knew she needed a job. During her first week in America, she interviewed and received a call back to begin working in Beverly Hills, California. It wasn’t until six months after their elopement, that Alex and Flower were reunited as a married couple in Los Angeles, California.
When Bulaklak was 28 years old, she gave birth to Jennifer Agorrilla, and Christian Agorrilla when she was 32. In addition to dedicating herself to her two amazing children, Flower had a remarkable career as an accountant at IHOP for over 35 years, where she worked her way up from an assistant to Director of Taxes for a multi-million dollar franchise corporation.
Bulaklak retired in 2005, and she and Alex moved to Summerlin, Nevada the following year. They happily enjoyed retirement by relaxing, bowling, gambling, and establishing lifelong friendships. In May 2010, Alex and Flower welcomed their first grandchild, Christian Liang. In November of 2014, they welcomed their second grandchild, Cameron Liang. Since then, they have treasured their time with their children and grandchildren.
Flower’s children have many cherished memories of their Inay spending time with them. Her grandsons especially enjoyed and appreciated their Lola spoiling them with toys and McDonald’s, playing games, and cuddling with them while watching silly videos. She was known to give her children and grandchildren anything and everything.
On January 21, 2022, Bulaklak “Flower” Tatlonghari Agorrilla peacefully went in her sleep. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 50 married years, Alexander Agorrilla, daughter, Jennifer Agorrilla, son, Christian Agorrilla, and two grandsons, Christian and Cameron Liang. Bulaklak was a beloved wife, mother/inay, grandmother/lola, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, friend, and godmother who was known for her unconditional love, beauty, selflessness, humility, generosity, wisdom, fierceness, independence, kindness, intelligence, faith, and uniqueness.
