Carmencita Batucan Viray

She was born on February 3, 1933 in Danao City, Cebu to Quinciano Batucan and Carmen Pasaol. She married her soul mate, Ruben Bie Viray, who passed away in 1995.

Carmencita attended the Philippines high school, Danao Visayan Institute, and graduated in 1952. As she moved on to college, she studied nursing at Southwestern University. After she graduated from Southwestern four years later, she continued to nurse and help patients until her retirement in 1995.

Carmencita loved to tell stories of her youth to her grandchildren. She also loved to cook and knit hats and scarves for her family as well. Carmencita had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her many relatives, including her five brothers, eight children, twenty-four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M.-7:00 P.M., May 7, 2013 at Palm Mortuary. Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Palm Cemetery.
