Carolyne S. Duhs

Carolyne Sue Duhs, 61, Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was born June 23, 1955 to Margaret Shelby in Chicago, Illinois. She was a 45 year resident of Peoria, Illinois until she retired from Caterpillar in 2003 after 31 years and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Carolyne was preceded in death by her older brother, Gerald Davis, and younger brother, Kevin Carter. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael; her stepson, David Duhs of Illinois; her stepdaughter, Danielle (Noah) Durham of Illinois; her stepgrandchildren, Cameron and Caroline Durham of Illinois; her mother, Margaret Shelby of Georgia; her sister, Sharon (Travis) McGlothan of Georgia; her brother, James Shelby of Illinois; her sisters, Deborah Shelby and Karen Carter of California; her brothers, Robin Robinson of California and Raymond Shelby of Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends. She fought a long, brave, and courageous battle against breast cancer for 25 years. And even still, no matter what you needed, Carolyne was there for you. She was a loving, devoted, and wonderful daughter, sister, wife, stepmom, grammy, cousin, niece, and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 19th from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at Palm Southwest Mortuary with a memorial service to follow.
