I met Cathy about 5 years ago in Tucson where we would meet at the pool and chat about family and friends. I will always remember her as being very direct, kind, generous, and encouraging .
She was very excitied about being closer to family when she moved to LV, she was thrilled to spend vacation time with her son, as well as dinners with her brother and friends. My heart is with family now.
Thank you Cathy for being a great friend.
May you RIP.

Cathy and I first met at FitnessFest conferences and subsequently worked together as aqua instructors, which was our fun extracurricular job. Hence her passion for teaching was obvious in all aspects of life. Most recently whenever she would come to aqua classes in Tucson, we would stay in the pool and dote about our children and grandchildren. I know her fond memories will help sustain you during this difficult time.

I met Cathy over 30 years ago through her mother, Margaret, and her brother, Paul. She brought me into her family. Cathy always expressed her love of family and her care of her students. When Makayla was born, Cathy’s heart grew larger. I will miss our regular dinners, especially our annual birthday celebration at Primo. She will be missed by her large circle of friends. My condolences to her community and, especially, to the family. May her memory be a blessing,

This Beautiful soul was not only a teacher, but a huge influence on me, I hated reading and writing and when I sat down with Ms. Dorson, she changed that. I couldn’t write a paragraph without struggling. Now I am a paralegal in the United States Army, currently in North Carolina. I owe my success to one person who never gave up on me. I cried when I saw she had passed because I wanted to reach out to tell her all the amazing places I’ve seen and things I’ve done, but mostly thank her for all the help and time she gave me. Here is to the kindest heart, most caring, respecting, understanding, and most selfless woman I’ve had the opportunity of being mentored by,
Thank you, for all you have done to help me progress through life and over come adversity. My condolences to her loved ones.

I had the honor of working with Cathy for years ay Gale Elementary School! She was a quiet professional force, working with children with a smile and patience ! Very kind lady I loved our conversations. She picked at my brain when she saw my own methods or suggestions for teaching our students! I did the same! I’ll miss her so much!!
Rest In Peace ✡️😔❤️

I first met Cathy through her brother Paul. Each time we met I admired her dignity and determination to face whatever life through at her. I remember how happy she was to be moving close to her family and grandchild in Nevada.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all who will miss her as I will.

Cathy and I worked together as part of the Bloom Elementary School Exceptional Education Team in the late 80's and early 90's. She was the consummate professional and always provided a lot of thought and expertise in her recommendations for children with special needs.
She and I also walked our eastside neighborhood for exercise before work, years ago. Cathy had strong opinions and was not shy in voicing them over many issues. She will be missed by many by friends and colleagues alike. May her memory be a blessing.

Have a lot of funny memories about your mom....thinking about how she whispered to me at your wedding "Let's go check out the room!" and we snuck in. Her eyes were so big and she was so she used to tell me that someday I'd have a daughter who would drive me crazy so be nice to my mom now. :)

Love you guys. I know she is with your dad, filling him in on what he's missed and telling him all about Makayla. XOXO

A mother, a grandmother, a teacher--how those three all tie together so well! May beautiful memories be a source of strength and hope for all of you. May your precious mother's, grandmother's, sister's name be a blessing.
