I may be late adding a message but it’s never too late to post a message about my Kaka. 

Kaka is and will always be one of my faves. All time. A woman with such a big heart, warm smile and most caring person I’ve met. A saint, if you will. And how fitting that she is up there in Heaven smiling and laughing with all her family and old friends, young and healthy and cooking with unlimited ingredients at her disposal. 

I forgot to add this important part in my eulogy but I will write it now. She never missed a bday of mine growing up by always sending a card with a nice gift inside. Every year. I still have some of the cards somewhere in a shoebox. But now these will be more important to me than ever. 

Kaka, you are loved by so many and you have touched so many hearts including mine, and now all these hearts are broken. It saddens me that I will never hear your voice or laugh anymore. But on the bright side, I now have something to look forward to. And that is meeting you again one day down the long road called Life. 

I will miss you dearly. Kristine, Evelyn and Ethan will miss you dearly. You were the best, Kaka. May you Rest In Peace. Forever in our hearts. 



Today its been exactly one week since we lost you, Kaka, and not a day goes by when I don’t think of you. I still can’t believe that you’ve left us because I can still vividly hear your voice in my head and see you clearly in my mind. For now, that will have to do until we meet again.

You’ve been in my life ever since my first memories as a child when you first came to Boston to visit me. Then again on my birthday after Bobby was born. Those childhood memories and the most recent memories will be forever cherished. Memories of your love, your kindness, and your generosity will forever remain with me. I’ve been truly blessed to have you in my life.

You’ve always been so special to me because of your kind and loving nature. Always caring and thinking of others first. Your selflessness, work ethic, and strength were immeasurable. Especially your strength. Your strength was on full display these past two years. The path to recovery after your heart surgery over two years ago was long and arduous, yet you never complained. You fought and powered through with a mentality that even the fiercest of warriors would be in awe of. Once that was dealt with, you took on the next health challenge. You fought as long and as hard as you could with a dignity and grace that was admired by all. Kaka, you were truly an inspiration in every sense of the word; a tiny fighter that fought with a strength and resolve that was unmatched. 

That fight is over now, Kaka. Rest easy and at peace. Thank you for making our lives better by being a part of them. We will forever love you, we thank you, and we will never forget you. 

 This beautiful lady, who I called Kaka was the most selfless, kindest and strongest person I know.  Throughout her life she always put everyone’s care before her. She helped raised me and my sister until we left our home for college and on to our own family. She never wanted anyone to worry about her but would be the first to worry about us. She showed her love by cooking the best Filipino food for anyone who showed up to her home which become the gold standard for Filipino food to duplicate. She gave to everyone and never expected anything in return. My own family is blessed to have had her in our lives. I loved to see her eyes light up when she talked to my children. My wife was honored by Kaka when she released the kitchen to her to make Thanksgiving dinner a couple years ago which was a high honor as Kaka would never have anyone in her kitchen.  I am blessed that she had seen me graduate, have a great career and become a husband and father.  My family will miss her terribly. As we can see through all these memories people have posted she will be missed by so many who had been touched by her through out her wonderful life. I will miss you Kaka but I will never forget your selflessness and strength.  I will do my best to emulate your kindness and love throughout the time I have on this earth and hope I could touch just a fraction of the people’s lives you have touched.  Love you Kaka.

We are very much honored and blessed to have known you Kaka. Your memory will always be in our minds and hearts, and we will let our son, Kai, know how kind, thoughtful and generous her Lola Celia was. Thank you for all that you've done for our family. We love you very much!

Ate Celia, There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart. And I know you are in the better place happy and joyful. I’m for sure we will meet again. Don’t know where, don’t know when, But I know we’ll meet again. And you will teach me how to cook better. I love you dearest sister. A selfless woman.❤️😘

There are no goodbyes.  Where ever you will be Ate Celia, you’ll be a part of us .  You may be gone physically but your memories will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever.

      As kids, we lived together 
we fought, we laughed, we cried.
We didn’t always show the love,    
      that we both had inside.
We shared our dreams and plans,
       and some secrets too.
        All the memories we share,
   is what bonds me now to you.
We grew to find we have a love
   that is very strong today.
It’s a love shared by our family,
you are my sister not by choice,
     but by nature of our birth.
I could not have chosen a better one.

We don't want to say goodbye Ate Celia but rather good night. Good night because we know when we wake up in heaven you will meet us there.
We will never forget you because you stood as our second mother You are very dear to Roger, he always tell me stories about you, how you took care of him when his parents were  busy with their business. He always talk to me about things you did for him when he was a kid like giving him socks on Christmas with balot and letter(advice) inside it, you were the  one to take Roger to kinder everyday and when you are busy at work she'll ask one of the policemen to take him there.
On the morning of our wedding she insisted that Roger would stop by her house before going to church which he wondered why and the reason for that was to give him her wedding gift. She was already in the US that time so it was Inang Isang who prepared the envelope.
And when Roger came to Canada ate Celia would always call him giving advice.
I remember when Roger got his first job, he called ate Celia that night crying( nagsusumbong.) He said he felt his whole body's aching. I'm sure ate Celia was crying on the other line too.
There are so many good memories with you Ate Celia.
We want not to have tears but can't help it. We will treasure you in our hearts. We love you and miss you so much.

It is difficult to say goodbye to a kind, loving and caring person that I admire who I'm glad was my sister in law.. 
But before I bid farewell to you, I would like everyone to know our gratitude for taking care of our children. They grew up to become loving, caring, responsible people and successful careers. It is you who taught them the good and notable Filipino traits. Along with  Carminia Saulog Lopez, you are the other mother to our children. Thank you.

I will always remember your good advice and traditional Filipino hospitality is always in your good heart  . Every time we or any friends visited you, you will prepare and cook and make sure there are always food in the table to feed us to full our stomach. I will missed my favorite Dinuguan & puto, Cavite style Adobo, Menudo and your specialty Wonton soup. 
A sister-in law is a special type of angel on earth who brings out your best qualities. I never had a bad times with Ate Celia, she will always be in heart. 
Now is the time to bid goodbye Ate Celia. There is a saying and I quote  "Old soldiers never die; they just fade away." 

Thank you for accepting Jesus in your life and by these giving you eternal life and someday I will see you in heaven. Till we meet again A place where everyone want to go as mentioned in Revelation 21. May you Rest In Peace Ate Celia.

Ate Celia was a kind of person to admired. Loving, kind, and caring even though I only met her when she visited Philippines yet it seems that I grew up with her. Every time she comes back home,Ate Celia always have pasalubong (gift) for us. She always make sure that all is fit for my size. Once she gave me bathing suit and I told her I'm not used to wear those, but she told me wear it for Edgar's (my husband) eyes only. 
I remember her hospitality that she wants to make sure that you eat and would say "Hoy Elsa kumain ka Jan". 
When we heard about her passing away, we are all sad and in sorrow, but the Bible says that this is not the end, yet it is the beginning of another life with the Lord. Thank you Ate Celia for the good memories. Enjoy up there. We love you! And to Ptra Baby and to the whole Saulog family, our deepest sympathy for your loss. May God embrace you with comfort and love in this time of sadness. God bless you all. 

I called her Yaya, she is my second mother.  She took care of us especially me, my mother used to left us to her everytime she needs to go to Divisoria to sell vegetables.  She is very kind and loving. She taught me a lot especially the importance of family. When I got married,  she is one of our godparent. 
When my mother was sick, she calls us to make sure to with Nanay on those difficult times...
Yaya and I are far away but the love and bond is always there. She always support me. I am so happy that i got the opportunity to visit her last Sept 2016 in Las Vegas. She always  message me and ask how I am and giving me advices. She don't forget all the special occassion to private message me and greet me. Last Nov 30 was my birthday, I am waiting for her greetings, keep on checking and I want to message her but I did not until I saw she greeted me on one of birthday greeting post. I was very happy but still wondering why and I noticed  the spelling of my name was wrong. She knows me well I know. My mistake is  I still did not message her and just thank her on that post. Then the morning of Dec 3, I saw all the messages she is gone. I was shocked, I am so angry to myself why I did not message her or even ask anyone about her. I don't have any clue that she was sick again.  All along I thought she is okay. Its really true you need to stay connected to everyone no matter how busy you are, a little hello and how are you would be nice, and don't assume or think everything is alright...Very important to let them know your feelings for them and how important they are...I am still very sad and the pain is inside me because of my shortcomings...
I am sorry Yaya and thank you so much! I love you! Till we me again! I have 2 angels now , you and Nanay...

Kaksy baby as I affectionately called her put up with so much of my silliness. Whether it’s making her take silly filter photos with me, filming a cooking show or wearing holiday costumes like bunny ears and a reindeer robe, she always ended up loving it. She may not have always outwardly showed it, but she was a fun loving, silly woman. I will miss her smile, her contagious laugh and her saying, “Bata yan” to all my silliness. I love you so much, Kaksy Baby.
