

Charles Perry Jr., a devoted husband, father, veteran, and community leader, passed away surrounded by the legacy of a life marked by service, dedication, and compassion. Born on April 29, 1936, in Grenada, Mississippi, Charles carried with him the values of hard work and community throughout his life.
At a young age, Charles answered the call to serve his country, proudly joining the United States Air Force during the Korean War. His time in the military reflected a lifelong commitment to duty and honor that continued to define him in the years that followed.
In 1974, Charles made Nevada his home, where he would become a respected figure in both public service and the healthcare community. He served as an Assemblymember in the Nevada State Assembly, representing Henderson with integrity and dedication. His leadership extended into numerous organizations, including his roles as a board member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Connections, as well as Board Chair of Las Vegas HEALS. Charles also served as President of the Nevada Healthcare Association and was the first Chair of the Board of the Clark County Coalition Health Systems Agency, helping to shape healthcare access and policy across the region.
A visionary and philanthropist, Charles founded the Perry Foundation, where he served as Board Chair, continuing his lifelong mission to improve the lives of others. His contributions to healthcare and the community were recognized when he was named a Vegas Inc. Healthcare Headliner in 2015.
Above all, Charles was a family man. He shared a loving partnership with his wife, Judee Spagnola for 42 years. He was the proud father of Charles C. Perry III, Robyn Hood (Perry), Amanda Smith, and Carrie Troutman (Spagnola). He was preceded in death by his children Jody Perry and Robert Perry. Charles was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Perry.
Charles’s legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward his spirit of love, resilience, and dedication.
Charles Perry will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his country. His impact will endure in the lives he touched and the institutions he helped build.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89123 on July 3, 2026, at 1:00pm, followed by a reception at the Perry Foundation, 2920 N. Green Valley Pkwy, Henderson, Nevada, 89014 at 3:00pm.
