She was born March 3, 1958 in the Bronx, New York to Gerald and Sandra (Kuritzky) Kassler.
Cheryl received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Office Administration from Westchester Business Institute in 1997. In a career shift, she took a position as a school bus driver, where she worked until her retirement with Clark County Schools in 2022. She proudly drove in her children’s district in New York, attending field trips so she could be involved in their schooling.
Cheryl was a tough cookie and a true New Yorker at heart. She had a strong spirit and was a social butterfly. She made friends wherever she went. She loved animals, especially cats. She volunteered in rescue and saved many cats by welcoming them into her home. Cheryl loved playing games with friends and crafting. She was a breast cancer survivor for almost 30 years. She had fought hard and beat the odds. She was a fighter and fought until the end.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Rose Gorman and her husband Anthony James “TJ” Zoda III, her son Allen Gorman, her brother Jay Kassler, her niece Sabrina and nephew Shane, countless cousins, many of whom live in New York. Cheryl is predeceased by her father Gerald, mother Sandra and sister Bonnie.
