Christopher Michael Fiaccone was born on July 2, 1974 at St. Frances Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut to Henry and Rosemarie Fiaccone. Chris was raised in the small hill town of Russell, Massachusetts with his three siblings, Lisa, Sarah, and Paul. As a kid he loved to spend time outdoors and building forts. He was always curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it.
As a young child, Chris excelled in sports. From baseball to soccer and eventually helping to coach his brother’s teams. Chris also enjoyed computers, video games and reading.
Chris graduated from Gateway Regional in 1992. In 1990, his soccer team made it to the State Finals. He was known as a quirky, kind, fun and an all-around great guy. He enjoyed many adventurous trips to Riverside Amusement Park, the long school bus rides, hanging out at the lake and working at Roy Rogers. Those were the days of mullets, innocent fun, and impromptu camping trips.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Johnson State College, Vermont in 1997. “Iggy” enjoyed working in the Computer Lab, hiking, a good party with friends (The GAME!), grilling over a half barrel keg, watching movies, and taking turns carrying beer up to Prospect Rock and Dogs Head. He went to Phish shows and Reggae fests, and he also saw Diego Maradona play in the World Cup between Nigeria and Argentina in Foxboro in 1994. Most of all, he loved playing on the lacrosse team that is now in the Johnson State College Hall of Fame and working on Coach's farm with his teammates. For Chris, his lacrosse coach, was the one he remembered most. Coach led a team in a way that tapped into each player's personal strengths with leadership, hard work, and a sense of comradery and belonging. That team was a source of lifelong friendships and many wonderful memories.
After graduation, Chris moved to Las Vegas where he met Alicia. A close friendship quickly developed to a much deeper connection. Both new comers to the city, they began to build a life together. They shared a mutual love of movies, video games and east coast mentality.
On September 22, 2002 Chris and Alicia exchanged vows at the Rainbow Gardens of Las Vegas, Nevada. Compassionate and devoted to Alicia, Chris held endearing, traditional values about marriage and family life. He took the responsibility of marriage to heart, giving it his total commitment.
When his son, Ryan was born, Chris chose to leave his career to stay home and raise him and later Katherine as well. Chris brought the same traditional values in his marriage to bear on how he raised Ryan and Katherine. He was a good parent to them, always firm yet fair in his dealings. He would always listen carefully and think things through before he acted, even when it was an adverse situation.
Throughout their childhood he was always supportive, from coaching soccer, helping at Tae Kwan Do and volunteering at their school. He was always eager to go out with the kids and do active things. He was always there for his family, supporting every activity they did. He was the father you could tell anything to.
When Alicia got sick, Chris was a great source of strength. He continued to stay home to care for her and the family.
In 2016, he started at Agilysys. Chris was selfless, even in his work...he was dedicated to the growth of his job as well as the development of the employees he worked with. He helped to teach others more about the product so that they may excel in their field.
He loved playing video games, reading comics, going to the movies and concerts, photography, and he especially loved cooking. His friends and family would often consult him for cooking advice. The man loved his meats!
Chris loved sports. Growing up as a participant to being a fan later in life. Whether it was watching games on TV, betting on fantasy football, playing hockey on his PlayStation or attending live sporting events with friends, it was always a big part of his life.
Chris enjoyed vacations with family. His favorite trips included reunions at beach houses and the family cabin in the woods. But Chris was most happy simply spending time with his family, watching TV, building LEGO sets, playing video games, going to the movies and sharing meals.
Chris touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way. He always had the ability to make everyone around him laugh. He was committed to his friends and valued the trust he placed in them. It was not uncommon for Chris to go beyond the call of duty for others, and friends frequently sought him out for advice.
Chris passed away on December 22, 2018 at home with Alicia holding his hand, talking about memories, and Star Wars playing on the TV. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Alicia; his children, Ryan and Katherine and devoted dog Shiva; his father, Henry and wife Pam; his sister, Lisa, husband Dave and children Dominic and Olivia; his sister Sarah, husband Joe and daughters Teagan and Abbey; his brother, Paul, wife Melissa and children Novi and Rosalie; and his sister-in-law Jessica, husband Gregg and daughters Jennifer, and Michelle. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary.
Commitment is a key word that can be used to describe the life of Chris. He was committed to living the life of a good man who was both practical and trustworthy. He was committed to the traditional values that he upheld his entire life. Most of all, he was committed to those he knew and loved.
