"Chris" Hayes was born December 14,1952 and passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 73. A 63-year resident of Las Vegas and Henderson, Chris was a retired Air Traffic Controller with the FAA for 29 years and then retired after 14 years as an Air Traffic Control Instructor at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. One of his proudest accomplishments was to serve his country for 4 years in the United States Marine Corps in Quantico, VA with the Marine Helicopter Squadron One, HMX-1. He was deeply loved by all his friends and family for his caring and loving ways and the way he made us laugh with his crazy sense of humor. His favorite time of the day was Martini Time as 5:00 to relax and watch the news. Chris is survived by his wife of 46years, Kathleen Hayes; daughter Heather Martinez (Ben), brother David(Verna), sister Minka (Paul), and sister Maleen (Bobby), nieces, nephews and grandson .Services were held Friday, August21stwith Marine Corps Honor Guard present at Palm Valley View Memorial Park on South Eastern Ave in Las Vegas. Have a martini in his honor!
