

Claire Bahrs Ehrsam, 93, of Las Vegas, died June 10th.
Claire was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Queens, NY to John and Agnes Bahrs. She graduated as valedictorian from Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn. Claire married Fred Ehrsam on October 2, 1954, in New York City. Throughout their marriage, they lived in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and California, eventually settling in Las Vegas in 1997. In addition to raising 4 children, Claire worked in a variety of professional and volunteer roles.
In Las Vegas, Claire was active in the Lone Mountain Hiking Club, where she formed lasting friendships. She was a devout member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church community and volunteered with the Assistance League of Las Vegas.
Claire was known for her dedication to family and friends, her devotion to her Catholic faith, and her steadfast commitment to the ideals she lived by, including kindness, generosity, and service to
others.
Claire is survived by her sons, Frederick Ehrsam Jr. of Boston, MA; Eric Ehrsam of Reno, NV; and Scott P. Ehrsam (Kathryn) of Washington, IL; her brother, John Bahrs (Alice); her sister, Kathy Johnson (Richard); her grandchildren, Ashley Rooney and Frederick Ehrsam III; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Fred Ehrsam; her daughter, Kristine Czajka; and her sisters, Marguerite Bahrs and Dorothy Drexler.
A memorial mass will be held on July 8 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. A graveside service will follow on July 9 at 8:00 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
