Major Courtney W. Wells, United States Air Force (Ret.), passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 86.

Courtney proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major after a distinguished career as a military pilot. A Vietnam veteran, he flew with courage, skill, and unwavering dedication, earning the respect of those who served alongside him. His years in the cockpit reflected his deep commitment to duty, excellence, and service to his nation.

Above all else, Courtney was devoted to his family. He shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, JANIS Wells. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring love, unwavering commitment, and steadfast partnership. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, building a life filled with love, faith, laughter, and cherished memories. Their love truly stood the test of time.

Courtney was a loving father to Mark Wells, Michael Wells, and Diane Wells, and a proud grandfather to two cherished grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of pride, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and integrity that will continue through them for generations.

Those who knew Courtney will remember his quiet strength, wisdom, and humble spirit. Whether serving his country from the skies or caring for those he loved, he led by example—with courage, honor, and compassion.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Though his final flight has ended, his legacy of service, devotion, and love will live on forever.

Funeral services will be held with full military honors in recognition of his faithful service to the United States.
