Cristina Sardez Destura passed away on March 28, 2021 at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on July 5, 1960 in Manila, Philippines to Inocencio and Josefina Sardez, and was raised in Manila with her eight siblings, Carmencita, Angelito, Adriano, Celia, Baltazar, Corazon, and Claudita. She is survived by her children, Leon, Joshua, and Cloie; her siblings, Celia, Bal, Angelito, Corazon, Carol, and Claudita; and her six grandchildren. Biography

Cristina Sardez Destura was born on July 5, 1960 in Manila, Philippines to Inocencio and Josefina Sardez, and was raised in Manila with her eight siblings, Carmencita, Angelito, Adriano, Celia, Baltazar, Corazon, and Claudita. As a young girl, she liked being part of a team and was even a member of a youth organization. She also loved to read, especially pocket books and comics, and even into high school she favored classes in Filipino. After graduating from Elpidio Quirino High School in 1977, she went on to earn her Associates Degree in Administration where she found a talent for stenography.

Being a mother and grandmother was one of Cristina’s proudest achievements. She was ever-watchful of her family and maintained a firm hand in their upbringing. She was blessed with two sons, Leon and Joshua; and one daughter, Cloie. She was later blessed with six grandchildren, Julian, Uno, Hailey, Caleb, Tres, and Ethan. Cristina’s family was rounded out by her dogs, Rookie, Blacky, Chippy, and Sexie.

Throughout her life, Cristina was sociable and approachable. People were drawn to her confidence and how she wasn’t afraid to challenge those around her. Some of her lifelong friends were Edna Villar, Opie Palma, Antonette Merina, Jimmy Gucc, and Rafael Bables.

For work, Cristina was a cashier and worked in customer service. She was employed for five years as an administrative assistant before becoming an entrepreneur for 25 years. She valued hard work and expected the same from those around her. Whenever she wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending her downtime playing cards and bingo, and watching TV. Cristina also liked to travel and take vacations, and some of her favorites were to Canada and family outings to the beach.

Cristina passed away on March 28, 2021 at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by her children, Leon, Joshua, and Cloie; her siblings, Celia, Bal, Angelito, Corazon, Carol, and Claudita; and her grandchildren. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary. Cristina was laid to rest at Valenzuela Memorial Park in Valenzuela City, Philippines.

All who knew her would agree that Cristina was a pillar of the community and of their lives. She had a strong work ethic and a warm heart, and always did her best to make sure that her friends, family, and loved ones’ lives were the best they could be. Cristina Sardez Destura was a wonderful woman, and she will be deeply missed.
