

Daniel Raymond Murray, 72, died on March 19, 2019 at his home in Las Vegas, NV from complications related to COPD. In hospice care for 10 months prior to his death, Daniel died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.
He was born May 20, 1946 at Saint Ann’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was adopted by Raymond and Leonore Murray on July 5, 1946 in Roscoe, South Dakota. He grew up in Aberdeen, SD with his parents and two sisters. After high school, Daniel graduated from the Naval Academy in 1966 and went on to serve 6 years in the United States Navy. During that time he served on the USS Benjamin Franklin in the role of Yeoman Third Class during the Vietnam War while stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in January 1972 and had earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Star and Meritorious Unit Commendation. After leaving the service he moved to Fargo, North Dakota where he met his wife Mary Ann Reisenauer by trying to sell her pots and pans. They were married on August 16, 1975 in Bismark, North Dakota. In 1976 he graduated from Moorehead State University with his B.A in Accounting. He and Mary Ann started their own business, Up-to-Date Business Service, which he actively ran until his retirement in 2015. Daniel and Mary Ann moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1976 where they raised their two daughters, Christina and Jessica. In 1997 the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they have called home for over 20 years.
Daniel was very active in the Catholic Church during his life and also in the Catholic School System when his daughters were in attendance. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Murray. Daniel is survived by his wife of 43 years Mary Ann; his two daughters, Christina and Jessica; mother, Leonore Murray; sisters, Mary Patricia Topp and Kathleen Ann Ziwicki, plus five nieces, one nephew, three grand nieces and six grand nephews.
