David Clarence Heckethorn, of Las Vegas, passed away July 16, 2012, of natural causes. David was born June 29, 1950, in Las Vegas. He was educated in Las Vegas and Carson City. He graduated from UNR with a BA in business and obtained his CPCU in 1992. David worked in the insurance industry for 40 years and retired from Cragin Pike Jan. 1, 2011. David loved golf, fishing, skiing, his home in Graeagle, Calif., and his boys, Skamp and Bailey. His parents, Clarence and Marie Heckethorn, preceded him in death. He is survived by his partner for life, Adrienne Curfew; sister, Cheryl (Dennis) Caviglia; niece, Michelle Caviglia; nephew, Matt Caviglia; aunt, Sarah Heckethorn; and numerous cousins. Because of his love of animals, if you wish to make a donation, please do so to any animal shelter in his name. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, July 20. Funeral services will be at noon, Saturday, July 21, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, with reception to follow.
