

It is with profound sadness that the family of David R. Kasmier Sr. (Dave) 83, announce that he passed away on May 28, 2022. Born on December 20, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Luvilla (née Sendlebach) Kasmier, Dave was the eldest of 3 children, he had a brother John Kasmier (Marilyn) and a sister Nora Pacer (John).
First married to the late Kathleen Duffy, in Toledo, Ohio (1962-1983), they had 3 children, David R. Kasmier-Milburn (Robert), Beth Ann Canfora (Gary) and Kevin D. Kasmier (Katherine). They were married for 21 years. During this time Dave worked for National Cash Register (NCR) as their top sales executive. In 1973 as NCR continued to expand and introduce new products to the marketplace, they asked Dave to open and head up their newest division in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he introduced to the hotel industry the very first computer main frame system in 1974 to Caesars Palace. By the end of the decade virtually all hotels on the Las Vegas Strip had already or were in the process of becoming fully computerized.
Dave married for the second time to his soulmate Geraldine (Geri) Brachman, in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1983. Dave and Geri first met through their mutual love of Youth Soccer where each had a daughter who played on the same team. As a result, they were each founding members of The Meadows Soccer Club, the first organized Girls Youth Soccer League in Las Vegas. When they got married Dave added 6 daughters to his family, Sharyn Korbar, Lynn Benoit (Bruce), Gayle Honeck, Jackie Fischer (Kevin), Sandra Cikity (Joe), and Deborah Lichtenstein. They were married for 35 years.
In 1987 Dave joined the Unisys Corporation as a Vice President-Director for their Southwest Division, he retired in 1999. In retirement, Dave, who was a lifelong Democrat, became involved in the political process by volunteering in various roles over the years at numerous polling locations throughout Clark County working on both local, state and national elections.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and the mother of his 3 children, his second wife who was the undisputed love of his life, and 3 grandsons. In addition to his 9 children and their spouses, Dave is survived by his brother and sister and their spouses, 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew, as well as countless extended family members and lifelong friends spread out all over the United States.
A celebration of Dave’s life and interment will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at Palm Mortuary 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. Always thinking of those he loved, Dave specifically requested no flowers, but suggested in lieu of, donations can be made in his name to The Las Vegas MS Society, The Las Vegas Division of The American Heart Association, The Las Vegas Chapter of the American Diabetes Foundation, or any NO KILL Animal Shelter of the donors choice.
