Dennis M. Fletcher passed away on April 21, 2021 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born in Joliet, Illinois on August 8, 1950 to Harold Fletcher and Theresa (Lenzi) Fletcher.

Dennis spent his childhood in Plainfield, Illinois and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era, joined the International Operating Engineers Union, Local 150, Countryside, Illinois in 1972, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for various contractors in the Joliet area.

Dennis moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981, transferred to IOEU, Local 12, and worked at the Nevada Test Site as an operating engineer and heavy equipment repairman for 25 years. Upon retirement in 2006, he moved to Stafford, Virginia until his wife retired in 2016, when they returned to Henderson, Nevada to be near family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Catherine (Bada) Fletcher; brother David Fletcher of Oceanside, California; sister Patricia and brother-in-law George Rapp of Plainfield, Illinois; sister Susan Fletcher of Vista, California; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Palm Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada on May 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of his Life Lunch at Legacy Golf Club, 130 Par Excellence Drive, Henderson, Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Dennis’ name to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
