

Donald Irving Cohen was born in Dorchester, MA on April 14, 1935. He was the oldest of 5 children. His parents were Ann (Cassin) and Frank Cohen. His formative years took place in Bristol, CT, where he graduated from Bristol High School in 1953. Don graduated from the University of CT Pharmacy School in 1957. He practiced pharmacy in Bristol and Newington, Ct, where he opened his own store, Market Square Pharmacy. While in CT, he was honored with many awards for his activity in his profession. He was also active politically, being elected to the Newington School Board (chairman) and Board of Selectman, Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor. He lived on Cape Cod where he and his son opened two pharmacies in Bourne and Onset. Don retired to Henderson, NV, in 2000. He leaves his wife Beverly (Schlossberg), a daughter Gayle and a son Barry, also two grandsons, Matt and Mark. Don was devoted to his family and his profession, spending the major part of his life helping and caring for all. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday January 24, 2016 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow at the King David Memorial Cemetery. Family requests that memorial donations be sent to Nathan Adelson Hospice. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
