Donna M McNamara

Clear Lake, IA – Donna M. McNamara, 90 of Clear Lake, formerly of Las Vegas, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Donna was born September 30, 1926, the daughter of Herman and Ethel (Boyd) Holland in Roland, IA. She married John Joseph McNamara on September 17, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1983. Years later when she was about 75, she was reunited with Dean Kemmerer, whom she dated in high school. They fell in love and were engaged; moving to Clear Lake about ten years ago. A graduate of Boone High School, Donna received her bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Iowa. She was a homemaker most of her life; helping raise she and John’s three daughters, Shawn, Ryan and Kelly. Donna was a member of the Clear Lake VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Donna is survived by three daughters, Shawn Mastos of Balboa Island, CA, Ryan (John) Allen of Discovery Bay, CA, and Kelly (Denise) McNamara of Las Vegas, NV; a stepson, Johnny (Maria) McNamara; two grandchildren, Scott and Kevin McNamara of California; two step-grandchildren, Erin and April McNamara; and Dean Kemmerer of Clear Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son-in-law, Ted Mastos; and a step-grandchild, Sean McNamara. Per Donna’s wishes, no services are planned in Iowa. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday March 30, 2017 at 12:00p.m. at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery 7600 South Eastern Ave Las Vegas, NV 89123.
