Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 11, 1942, to Albert and Doris (Frantzel) Baron. Douglas grew up in West Orange, New Jersey. He left High School early to enlist in the U.S Army and was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey as a Private in Infantry. He was proud to have served overseas during the aftermath of the Korean War before being Honorably Discharged.
After serving his country, Douglas worked for 37 years for (BASF)Knoll Pharmaceuticals before retiring during which time he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University for classes in Business and La Salle University for a Diploma in Traffic & Transportation. In 2003 he moved west and worked in transportation mainly as Dispatcher, Limousine and Shuttle Bus driver until Parkinson’s Disease took over in 2014.
Douglas is survived by a brother Richard, daughters Christine, Dawn & (Michael) Ferrentino and their children Vinnie & Rocco, a stepdaughter Kerri Leonard, two stepsons Ricky and Christopher Goldbach and their children. He will be reunited with his son Mark. He spent over a decade as a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 155, Whippany, New Jersey. While in Las Vegas, Nevada, Douglas enjoyed volunteering for over 5 years at Channel 13 ABC News in their Contact 13 call center.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 2, 2018. It will take place at 5:00pm with a reception afterward at Palms Mortuary Southwest, located at 7979 W Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89113.
