Las Vegas for 59 years, formerly of Royal Oak, MI. Doug traveled the world as a professional
roller and ice skater. Doug had various partners throughout his career, including Gloria Nord
and Sonja Henie. He was most proud of skating a command performance before the
Queen of England in the ice show Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. Doug skated in many
ice shows in Las Vegas at various hotels on the Strip, including Spice On Ice with his 3 legged
act, “Admiral Strange Legs”, at the Hacienda. Doug was also a bartender when he wasn’t
doing ice shows, and when he retired he taught adults and children roller skating at the
Chrystal Place Roller Rink, and gave private ice skating lessons. Visitation on Tuesday, July
10th from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Services on Wednesday, July11th. at 11 AM at Palm Memorial-
Eastern.
