On Wednesday, April 26, 1961 a baby boy was born to Bevela Gay and Percy Wayne Crawford. His given name was Earnest Allen Crawford, but we all knew him as “Butch”. Butch was the sixth child born out of eight children. As a child, Butch had a rough and tumble attitude and made sure he stood up for what he believed was right, and brawled with those who did not. Butch was an Air Force brat and with the family traveled to Alabama, then back to Arizona where he settled into his Arizona roots. After high School on April 29, 1979, he enlisted in the Army, where he earned a medal as a sharp shooter, until his honorable discharge on November 13, 1980. He loved to fish, and he loved going shooting. On July 10, 1985 his daughter was born, Carol Lynn. With many ups and downs she was one of the joyful moments in his life. Another joyful moment in life was when he moved to North Las Vegas, and in September 1993 is when he first met the love of his life Su Wen. It was not until March of 1994 when Su needed some repairs done at her home when they realized their destiny would be fulfilled as a married couple, and soon were married on November 5 of the same year. Butch had many computer skills and was a whiz with fixing cars and just an all-around jack-of-all-trades—and surprisingly efficient. If he did not know what to do with something, he would research until he found the answer. Anytime you needed help with something, Butch was there to help, it did not matter if you were a state away or not, he would find a way to help. He was preceded in death by his mother Bevela Gay (2004) and his father Percy Wayne (2005); nephews Brian Andrew (1999) and Cory Nicholas Kyle (2009); and brother Wayne Edward (2010). Butch is survived by his loving wife Su; daughter Carol Lynn; and his siblings Georgia, James, Edward, Glenn, Bevela and Larry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
