My Dear Big Brother Miro,

Entwined within my sorrow are many fond memories that I will forever hold dear.
As a child you gave me care, as a teenager you gave me advice and as an adult you accompanied me through many special times.  We will forever miss your silliness and laughter, endless jokes and our special trips to the casino.  Thank you for always giving us your all.  
Our comfort comes from knowing you are truly home with our Heavenly Father and other loved ones.  We will see you again someday soon!

We will miss you terribly but am happy that you no longer have pain and have been reunited with Gloria and our beloved Mommy, and a few more loved ones. I do believe God takes our loved ones Home when they have been called by him and that someday we will all see each other again. I have faith God will wrap his loving arms around your kids and family and give emotional support and comfort . I love you my cookie older brother and will miss your calls but you will always live in our hearts.

I love you so much, Grandpa! It's hard to put into words what a huge part of my life you've been. In your eyes, your grandkids could do no wrong, you've always loved us & accepted us for who we are. You've always been so supportive and helpful. Your phone calls just to check up on us meant more to me than you'll ever know. You are the toughest person I have ever met & you have always lived your life on your own terms (which is one of the qualities I admire most about you). You always had a joke up your sleeve & were ready to put a smile on anyone's face! You made friends everywhere you went & you were always so willing to help anyone in need in any way you could. I'll cherish our road trips & the times you would fly out and hang out with me while Steven was gone, the most. I'm so grateful for the time Addison, Aspen & Bubba got to spend with you, thank you for loving them the way you did & always calling to see what they were up to. I couldn't have asked for a better grandpa! I already miss you more than anything! I know you're with grandma & you both are happy, thinking of the two of you reuniting brings me so much comfort. I love you more than you'll ever know & miss you so much it hurts, but I know I'll get to see you again someday. Rest peacefully, grandpa, you deserve it! Xoxo

I never met my half brother but we spoke often after the death of our father. He was very funny. He didn't pull any punches and always called it like he saw it. Even though he had health and personal issues he had a wonderful zest for life, living his to the fullest. He touched many lives, he will be missed.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to the Garza family.  My heart and prayers extend to you all.  Upon hearing this news, my heart is broken.  I have a special place for Ed in my heart forever.  My name is Krista Downing, and I have been Brenda Garzas best friend since I was 14 years old.  We have been friends for 28 years now.  I lived alone with a single father who was mostly absent from my life, and who didnt take any time to raise me.  Since the beginning of my friendship with Brenda, the Garza family opened their home and their hearts to me and treated me as one of the family. I always considered the Garza family as my adoptive family.  I considered Ed as my second dad and I called him that often.  During my teenage years he was always there for me.  He always helped me fix my junky car that broke down frequently, and he never asked for anything in return.  I was always at the Garza home after school and Ed always had food on the stove waiting for us, as he knew I had a hefty appetite.  He always teased me I would eat them out of house and home, but I was so appreciative for that because I never had food at my house.   A majority of my high school years, I was a mainstay at Gloria and Eds home, and felt like I was a part of their family.  When I bought my first home, the house I chose was on the same street as Ed and Gloria, and that was mostly because I wanted to continue to stay near my second family.   He always helped me when I needed it and asked for his help.  When my father died in 2017, Ed and his son had helped me clean my fathers home to get it ready to put up for sale.  Again, he didnt ask for anything in return.  Ed was decent, compassionate and a loving father and grandfather.  He will be missed and will always have a place in my heart as my second father.

Words cannot fully describe the mixed feelings and heart ache now that you are with our Heavenly Father. We will miss the fun visits with you and the family during our frequent travels to Vegas.  
Celebrating your life as a wonderful and loving brother who enjoyed life with his family. May God bless your family and give them strength during this difficult time.

Grandpa, you were always so calm and optimistic, your mood never wavered no matter what the day brought. You taught me how to look on the bright side and how to stay strong no matter what type of adversity came my way. You showed me how to sacrifice for the betterment of our family and how to be the rock for people to hold on to when they needed help. I will forever be grateful for the impact you've made on my life and I hope one day to make the same impact on my family that you've made on me.
