Editha Monterola LoMonaco, 70, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents Maria Landicho Monterola (1996) and Perfecto Monterola (2013); her brother Renato (2017) and sister-in-law Erlinda (1997).
She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Joseph LoMonaco and her precious son Joshua Joseph LoMonaco; her brothers and sisters Elena L. Monterola, Elenita M. Tagle (Jesus), Elvira M. Lapidario (Renato d. 2019), Armando L. Monterola (Norma), Angelito L. Monterola (Noriza d. 2022), Angelina M. Perez (Wilfredo); her sister-in-law, partner in crime and best friend Apolonia Monterola; her beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and countless adored friends.
Editha was born on August 24, 1954, in Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines. With a calling on her heart to serve, advocate and heal, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1976. This opened doors of opportunity to migrate to the United States in 1987. She worked as an RN in Chicago & California where she met her husband Joseph on a blind date. Since that day they have been inseparable as they married a year later in 1990. In 1993 they had their son, Joshua, and set roots in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Editha was known to many as a loving, generous and selfless soul. She found joy in the happiness of others and because of this you can always hear her saying “if I can, I will” without hesitation. Often, prioritizing others above herself, this was the cornerstone of who she was as a person. True to “the Monterola” name, she was stubborn to a fault but loved with just as much fervor and spirit. Adored by many, she will be missed and remembered always.
