

Edward William "Bill" Coutta' (aka Santa Bill and Mr. Polka Dot the clown), 80, of Las Vegas, NV passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Because he was so patriotic he chose the 4th of July to return to his heavenly home. Bill was born November 27, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward M. & Elsa Emma Conde. Bill and his family have been residents of Las Vegas for 43 years. Bill served in the US Marine Corp. In 1959 he went to Brigham Young University, met his sweetheart, Linda R. Broderick. They were married October 6, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT in May 1964 with a degree in Marketing and Accounting. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in September 1964. In the military he worked in logistics and procurement. Bill's Air Force Assignments took the family to Walker AFB Roswell, NM, Guam, Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Woomera, South Australia, and Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV. Bill retired from Nellis AFB in June 1980. After retirement he worked for Northrup Corp. in Saudi Arabia training the Saudi military. After returning from Saudi he worked for United Blood Services. From there he was the purchasing agent for the Citibank card services. He worked at EG&G and retired from there in 1995. Bill loved entertaining people as Mr. Polka Dot and Santa Claus. He loved keeping active doing home projects, working in his yard, on his cars and helping neighbors. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holding various positions; his favorite was an ordinance worker at the LDS Temple. Bill is survived by his "bride" Linda; his daughters Chantelle & Michael Blackburn of Boise, ID and Melanie Coutta' Price of Las Vegas, NV; his ten beautiful grandchildren and eight fabulous great-grandchildren who are the loves of his life; his beloved doxies, Elvis, Duke & Miss Kitty; sister, Sally C. Anderson of Aurora, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill's viewing will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Palm Eastern from 5 to 7 PM. Memorial Services will be on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Palora LDS Chapel at 1725 Palora Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89169; Viewing 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM with services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 9:20 AM. In lieu of flowers, Bill requests donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.org. Bill also requested friends & family "wear bright colors as this is a JOYOUS CELEBRATION OF BILL'S LIFE".
