Edward Tarutani of Kapahulu, HI, passed away peacefully in Henderson, Nevada, on July 17, 2026, at the age of 88.
He is survived by his daughter Cheri Tarutani (Ronnie Fernandez), his son Scot Tarutani (Nancy), and his stepdaughters Lauren Scott and Leslie Nilsen (Christopher). Edward was a proud grandpa to Matthew Herrera, Veronica Tarutani, Ryder Tarutani and Melissa Mulvey, and a loving step‑grandpa to Tyler and Kekoa Scott.
Edward now joins his beloved wife, Lorraine Tarutani, whose presence he deeply missed, and he longed for the day they could be together again. Those who knew Ed will remember his smile, his sense of humor, and the way he treated everyone as family.
A private scattering of ashes will be held in Hawaiʻi, honoring Ed’s connection to Diamond Head and offering a peaceful aloha in a place he loved.
