

Edwin (Lee) McCullough was born in Weirton, West Virginia on February 8, 1931, and passed away March 6, 2014. He came to Las Vegas in 1954 as a professional musician and played with numerous bands on the Las Vegas Strip. Intrigued with law enforcement he began his career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Clark County Sheriff's Department, and then with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he rose through the ranks to Captain. He graduated from the 100th Session of the FBI National Academy. He headed several bureaus within the Departments and started some specialized units, including but not limited to SWAT, of which he was most passionate and proud. Lee, as he was known to his family and friends, retired after 33 years of service. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Grace; his daughters Kathy Banto (Tony), Kimberly Wood, Kelly Meaux, Kelley Lagudi (Paul); grandchildren Ryan Wood, Christopher Meaux, Paulina and Roman Lagudi; sister Terri McCullough; and extended family. Lee was a man of integrity, loyalty, and honesty. He was passionate about his work, his community and his country. He was devoted to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held on March 22, 2014 at 1:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his name to the American Lung Association. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
