She was born in Savannah, GA on October 30, 1930. For 13 years of her life Sue had the opportunity to travel around the world. She lived in England and Spain for six of those years. She never lost that adventurous spirit and continued her travels throughout the United States. Her places of residence stateside included Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Alaska, and Texas. After retiring from Civil Service at Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, AK she moved to Texas for several years to be with family and friends. Ten years ago she moved to Las Vegas, NV to be near her daughters and family.
Sue absolutely loved the ocean and the mountains and passed that love on to her daughters. In her younger years she was quite the seamstress. She also loved arts and crafts and crocheted a lot of afghans and Christmas stockings that we all treasure today. When her competitive spirit kicked in she would definitely challenge you to a game of Yahtzee.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Steve & Angie Hall and Ava Purdy of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-law, Mark Pool, Eric & Cathy Pool, Megan Pool, and Jacob Purdy of Las Vegas, NV, and Brandon & Samantha Purdy of San Antonio, TX; six great grandchildren, Colton, Truitt, and Adalyn Purdy of San Antonio, TX, Madison Pool and Grace & Luke Pool of Las Vegas, NV.
Sue lived a full and active life. All who knew her loved her sense of humor and feistiness. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
A private "Celebration of Life" will be held in her honor by her immediate family some time in February.
