
He was born in Lebanon, MO on
October 2, 1959, the youngest child to Frank and Reba (Sneed) McDaniel. On October 10, 1981 he was married to Vickie K. Smith at Green Ridge Baptist Church in Green Ridge, MO. They have one son.
He was employed many years as a retail drug store manager. In October 1989 Eric surrendered his life to follow Jesus Christ in Memphis, TN where he was a faithful member; active in missions, traveling on mission trips to many countries.
In July 2001, Eric and his family moved to Las Vegas, NV to help with the beginning of Hope Church and then a daughter church. In 2009, Eric became involved with helping refugees who were coming to L.V. to resettle and begin new lives. In 2013, Eric and Vickie following God resettled themselves to a community where refugees and immigrants were living. They began an ESL school to further minister to their new friends. In 2015, Eric surrendered to God’s call to plant Refuge Church within the 89102 community that he loved so much, sharing the “Good News” at community events, apartment complexes, parks or schools. He was well known and loved by the 89102 community.
He leaves his wife, Vickie; his son, Aaron and his wife, Mary and granddaughter, Charlotte due to arrive in May. He also leaves his brother, Greg McDaniel and wife Nancy and Cabot, AR; his sister Brenda Thornsberry and husband Max of Richland, MO and several nieces and nephew. He will be missed by “family” members from the Burmese, Eritrean, Iraqi and Syrian communities where he was known as Dad, Uncle, Grandpa or Pastor.
His legacy will be carried on by those who loves him and knew his vision from God for 89102. He will be sorely missed by those left behind but will rejoice that he is in the presence of the LORD God.
