Eugene Dale Scheppmann

Eugene was born on January 9, 1936, in West Heron Lake Township, Minnesota, to Hannah and Louis Scheppmann. As a newlywed, Gene moved to Las Vegas in 1954 with his wife Edna, where they built a life together and raised their family.

Eugene was a dedicated and hardworking man whose career spanned several decades. He worked for Western Airlines before becoming a State Farm Insurance agent in 1961 at the age of 25. He was an agent for 37 years. Throughout his life, Gene was known for his strong work ethic, quiet generosity, and unwavering commitment to family and community.

He had many passions, including camping trips with his family, fishing, and serving as both a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Scoutmaster. He was actively involved with the Senior Center in Pahrump, Nevada, the Pahrump Library, the Lions Club International, Kiwanis International and Heritage Acres in Minnesota. Above all, Eugene’s two greatest loves were his beloved wife Edna and sailing, which brought him immense joy and peace.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Carmen Scheppmann; his sons, Mark Scheppmann (Susanne) and Curtis Scheppmann (Karen); his daughter, Kimberly Friedman; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Erin, Darryl, Ryan, Steven, Brittany, Jared, Justin, Michael, and Dylan; and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to cherish his memory and legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hannah and Louis Scheppmann; his beloved wife, Edna Scheppmann; and his son, Brad Scheppmann.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Palm Mortuary, located at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89123, followed by a celebration of life reception. A private burial service will be held for immediate family.
