

Evelyn Michael Bringier was born the eldest child of Cleveland and Oleanda Michael on June 1, 1918 in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Her parents and her four siblings preceded her in death. She was educated in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Evelyn met and married Samuel A. Bringier on January 23, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana. To this union five children were born, Arthur Bringier, Marlene Hicks, Marion Myers, Samuel A. Bringier, Jr., and Eleanor Armstrong who preceded her in death.
Before leaving New Orleans, Evelyn organized and operated a Day Care Center for Payne Memorial AME Church serving a vast community.
Evelyn moved to Los Angeles, CA. with her family in 1956 seeking better educational advantages for their children. There she became a Real Estate Broker, opened her own business in 1960 and joined Consolidated Realty Board as a Broker. She was a member of the Multiple Listing Service in the same year.
She was an active member of Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church, Los Angeles, CA. working with the Willing Workers Club and the Ashanti Missionary Unit. She was also a member of the Adult Choir.
Evelyn served as the Parliamentarian of the Twelve Big Sisters, Inc. and as President for eight years. The organization was a Charm Clinic and Girls Club sponsoring young girls who needed guidance and assistance in grooming, etiquette, social graces and academic achievements.
She was President of Consolidated Realty Board and served in all other offices during her membership. She was a member of Directors of California Association of Real Estate Brokers, National Association of Real Estate Brokers and an active member of the Women’s Council, local, state and national.
Evelyn was a graduate of Straight Business College, and studied at Newcomb College of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Lubea School of Real Estate and TATA Travel School.
She was a long-standing member of the YWCA and NAACP, a member of the Ruth Temple Health Center Committee of South Los Angeles and also housed an election poll in her outside playroom while serving as the “Inspector.” She was a Past member of the New Frontier Democratic Club.
Evelyn loved traveling, reading, cooking and crossword puzzles. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East by land and sea.
Evelyn was an active member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Alpha Rho Chapter. She served as 1st Anti Basilus, Recording Grammateus and as chairperson of the Ebony Fashion Show for several years. She was a devoted and dedicated member of the Sorority and loved to plan and organize special events.
After relocating to Las Vegas, NV. In the mid “90’s she was a faithful member of First African Methodist Episcopal Church, N. Las Vegas. She chaired special fundraising events for church improvement projects.
In December 2002, she transferred her membership to fountain of Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, Las Vegas/Henderson and was a loyal, dedicated and faithful member serving as a Trustee and upon retiring was awarded”Emeritus” status. Her favorite Scripture was Psalm 23.
At Fountain OF Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, Evelyn founded the “Samuel A. Bringier Scholarship and Incentive” programs and later she added the “Samuel A. Bringier Tutoring Academy” named in memory of her late husband. Evelyn initiated an annual fundraiser entitled “The Silver Crystal Tea” which soon became a favorite of every member and friend of Fountain of Hope.
On Friday Morning, August 15, 2014, God whispered to Evelyn that He was calling her home. God and the Angels rejoiced and welcomed her say “Well Done, thy good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” Evelyn happily answered and entered into her new residence in Heaven.
Evelyn leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, children-Arthur Bringier (Gracita), Fontana, CA; Marlene Hicks, Las Vegas, NV; Marion Myers, Las Vegas, NV; and Samuel Bringier, Jr. (Susan), Fontana, CA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Irene Williams, Washington, DC; a host of nephew, nieces and friends.
Evelyn will be missed by all who had the opportunity of getting to know her. She had so much love to give and much was given to her in return.
