Tony was born to the late Frederick Lomboy and Natividad Lachica on December 8, 1946.
Tony's early education varied from duty station to duty station. When the family finally settled in Seaside, CA, Tony began an obsession with football. He went on to participate in many high school sports but excelled in his favorite. SEASIDE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES! Tony also found time for singing. He had a great voice and often performed solos in the choir as a tenor with a smooth falsetto. After high school, Tony attended junior college for a short bit and later joined the U.S. Air Force to see the world.
While in military service, Tony not only traveled to places like Germany and Spain, but also continued his football legacy with the US Air Force Bitburg Barons. According to Tony, in 1971 he "Almost made it to the all-star team for the third time in a row, even after being thrown in the meat wagon once this year." He worked hard but knew how to have fun.
On a later military tour in South Korea, Tony met and married his wife of 43 years. They had two boys and after several more years of military life, settled in Las Vegas, NV.
After retirement from the military, Tony continued his trade of civil engineering in the civilian world while helping his wife start several businesses. Tony retired early due to health concerns but continued to enjoy life the only way he knew how, through laughter and good food.
Whether it was football, fishing, bingo, or gardening, Tony put all his faith, energy, and love into everything he did. He was the same with family, friends, and strangers. Tony was loved deeply and will be missed.
"He is survived by his wife, Kim; three sons, Tino, Lino, and Angel; daughter-in-law, Samantha; three brothers, Don, Christopher, and Charles; four sisters, Rose, Angela, Evelyn, and Nina; brothers-in-law, Chiyong, Chisop, and John; sisters-in-law, Rose, Sharon, and Teresa; and several other family and friends which he was proud to know."
