

He was born on May 30, 1941, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Esther Calderon and Rafael Nieves. In 1979, he found his soulmate and lifelong partner when he married Lynda Nieves.
Fernando was born in Puerto Rico but moved to New York at a young age, where he spent most of his adolescent years. As a young man, he uprooted his life and relocated to the West Coast, eventually making Las Vegas, Nevada, his permanent home. He proudly spent most of his career in management in the textile industry. After many years in the textile business, Fernando eventually retired.
Fernando was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and shared that love with his family. He was a lively and joyful person who loved to dance and had a special way of creating a fun and happy environment wherever he went. His vibrant personality and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife and lifelong partner, Lynda; his daughters, Virginia Nieves and Lindsey Nieto; his son, Frankie Nieves; and his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Fernando Nieves Jr. and Daniel Nieves.
Fernando leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, laughter, and pride in his heritage. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
