Francis (Fran) Bureau lived in Henderson, Nevada from 2001 until his death in 2015. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 20, 1949, the second son of Roger and Pearl Bureau. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, class of 1966; and Newbury College, receiving a degree in Business Administration. He was stationed in Korea while serving in the US Army. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Martin, and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Aruba in September. Fran was the second generation owner of Bureau Brothers Roofing for 30 years before relocating to Nevada with his wife, Elaine. While in Nevada, he owned and operated a landscaping business for three years and later worked as a construction Supervisor until his retirement in 2011. Fran was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His joys were many; time with the grandchildren, his pet Bichons, and fishing at Suncook Lake in New Hampshire to name a few. The generosity of his time and talent was unconditional. He is greatly admired by all who knew him because of his love and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Fran and Elaine enjoyed many great vacations together, but always loved coming back to their beautiful home in Henderson. When he wasn't engrossed in one of the countless novels he took pleasure in reading, he would be completing 1000 piece puzzles, crossword puzzles or researching stocks to invest in. Getting involved in various home projects or helping neighbors and friends was part of Fran's persona and something he enjoyed doing. Nothing was too difficult, he liked being challenged. He was a consummate cook and greatly enjoyed preparing holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving Dinner, for the immediate family as well as any member lucky enough to be there at the time. Weekends were most often spent dining out and taking in a movie with Elaine and family. Fran lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 4, 2015. He left an indelible mark on everyone he touched and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. He truly lived a wonderful life with his best friend, lifelong partner and beautiful wife, Elaine. His two sons, Kevin and Brian, will proudly carry on Fran's legacy for the rest of their lives.
