Francisco “Ike” Gonzales Mendoza Jr., 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on October 23, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, faith, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born on May 19, 1946, in Balayan, Batangas, Philippines, Francisco lived a life filled with adventure, meaningful relationships, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. Throughout his career, he worked as a salesman, but some of his greatest joys were found in the moments spent with those he loved most.
One of the most beautiful chapters of Francisco’s life was the love he shared with his beloved wife, Marissa Mendoza. The two met in San Diego, California, beginning a love story that would span 25 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, companionship, and unforgettable adventures.
Francisco and Marissa shared a passion for traveling and exploring the world. Their many journeys took them aboard countless cruises and to destinations across the globe, visiting nearly every continent. From one international adventure to the next, they embraced the beauty of different cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and the joy of discovering new places together. When Marissa was asked which destination was their favorite, her answer was simple and heartfelt: “All of them.” For Francisco and Marissa, it was never just about the places they visited, but the memories they created together along the way.
Beyond their travels, Francisco’s greatest treasure was his family. Together, he and Marissa shared a beautiful blended family of seven children and 14 grandchildren. Their family stands as a testament to the love they nurtured and the life they built together. His legacy lives on through the generations who will carry his memory in their hearts.
A man of Catholic faith, Francisco’s life was guided by his beliefs and the values he held dear. His faith remained an important part of his journey and a source of strength throughout his life.
Francisco will be remembered for a life well lived, a love that crossed oceans, and a family legacy that will continue for generations. Though his earthly travels have come to an end, the memories of every journey, every shared laugh, and every precious moment will remain with those who knew and loved him.
May he now rest in eternal peace, embraced by God’s everlasting love.
