

Frederick Raymond Holden, 50, passed away on January 29, 2014 at Sunrise Hospital from a bravely fought battle with cancer. He was born on November 14, 1963 in the Bronx, New York to Harold and Florence Holden. He was the fourth of five children. He grew up in Farmingville, New York. Fred graduated from Sachem High School and attended the University of Maine, Presque Isle before joining the US Air Force. After his 6-year enlistment was up, he moved back to Long Island, New York. After five years from missing the military, he joined the Air National Guard in New York. In 1999, after moving back to Nevada, he joined the Air Force Reserves, and at first was stationed at March AFB before being assigned to the 555th Red Horse Unit at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. He made many, many friends in the military, and enjoyed many deployments. In 2007, he was employed for Operation Enduring Freedom. Fred retired from the Air Force on 11-11-11 after 20 years of service. Fred’s civilian job was as a truck driver. He spent many years with Conway Trucking. He also had a stint with the State of Nevada and US Foods. Fred loved Las Vegas, especially for the weather which allowed him to ride his Harley Davidson year round as well as his Sandrail. He always had a joke to tell, loved the NY Yankees, and NY Giants. Fred is survived by his wife Michelle; son Michael; daughter Nichole; grandson Trethon White; siblings Andrew Holden of Setauket, New York, Kathie Ciccolella of Presque Isle, Maine, Daniel Holden of New York, and Mary Piazza of Massapequa, New York; in-laws Larry and Pat Wahl of Pahrump, Nevada; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
