Gabrielle M. Carter

Gabrielle "Gabby" M. Carter (nee Chustz) went home to live with our Lord at the age of 56. On May 20, 2014, she passed peacefully inside her residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gabby was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 11, 1957. She was the fiery middle child and only girl to parents Joseph and Imogene Chustz. In 1978, at the tender age of 20, she married Bruce Carter in Fresno, California. Gabrielle was married 17 years before becoming a devoted single mother to her two daughters Scherrie and Dominique. She spent half of her life selflessly dedicating herself to children with special needs. Being a mentor and having been an integral part of the educational development of the children she served was her passion in life. She would always say “I don’t go to work every day, I go on vacation." Gabrielle is survived by her daughters Scherrie (Jeremy) Bean and Dominique Carter of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchild Kyle Bean; step-mother Eunice Bailey-Chustz of California; brothers Vincent Chustz of Virginia and Pierre Chustz of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles as well as her dear friends. Gabrielle was preceded in death by her parents Imogene Chustz (nee Metoyer) on May 10, 1987 and Joseph Chustz on January 14, 2014.

There will be a service held for Gabby on June 6, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by her funeral service at 11:00AM. Palm Eastern Mortuary has been entrusted with all final arrangements.
