

Surrounded by the love and presence of family, he fought the cancer to the very end until he peacefully left this earth to be with our Heavenly Father.
Gaspar is a native to the Philippines, born January 26 of 1952 in Manila to Esther and Salvador Pineda.
Gaspar attended Adamson College for one year and transferred to Manuel L Quezon for Mechanical Engineering. He was one semester shy from graduating college before he made a decision that would impact the legacy of his family. He chose to enlist in the U.S. Navy at Naval Station Subic Bay, Philippines at the age of 23. He completed Basic Recruit Training in San Diego and completed Boiler Technician Class “A” School at the Navy Service School Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.
After 2 years in the Navy, he went back to the Philippines to marry the love of his life, Edna Araojo. Between sea and shore duty across the country, they were able to settle and build a life together in Long Beach, California where they raised their four children. He was an active choir member in OLPH of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and played tennis at the Silverado Park. He continued to impact and influence friends and family with his humor and generosity.
On March 1, 1999, he retired after completing his service for a combined total of 20 years both active and reserve.
His other places of employment as a Stationary Engineer included ARCO Refinery, McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, B Braun Medical Inc, and the University of California, Irvine where he retired in 2012.
In 2014, Gaspar and Edna decided to leave California and move to Las Vegas, Nevada where they enjoyed retired life.
Here in Las Vegas, Gaspar continued to live out his passions. He was an active bowler at South Point, played tennis and pickleball in his community, sang in the choir at Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer, caroler at the SNFAA, shared his love of music through singing, playing the guitar and piano, cooked delicious meals, photographed memories, showed his creativity through painting and drawing, shared his endless love and wisdom to his seven grandchildren, and be the best and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend.
Throughout his life, Gaspar was always active and is known to family and friends as a jack of all trades, always there to lend a hand for any project that was needed. He is a man of faith and love. He will be truly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years to Edna Pineda and their children Michelle Brown, Melissa Pineda, Christopher Pineda, and May Pineda, son-in-laws Timothy Brown, Timothy Parham, daughter-in-law Milany Pineda, and son-in-law John Tamayo, and grandchildren Jonah Pineda, Emma Brown, Ava Brown, Jeremy Pineda, Lauren Parham, Lula Parham, and Teague Parham. He is also survived by his sisters Teresita Bernal and Evelyn Santos and brothers Noel Pineda and Balthazar Pineda.
