

Dad’s career was in aerospace. He was the first to use laser-beam welding to the space shuttle. He later went on to form his own company which performed work for such companies as Boeing, Rocketdyne, Bell Helicopter and many other independents. He was also the first man to weld with bronze to restore statues for the Getty Museum.
Dad’s passion was gambling. He loved playing the horses, slot machines, Deuces Wild and football! He also loved good food, movies, apple martinis, friends and family, good times and telling his stories.
Gene is survived by his daughters Joanna Martin and Jeanie Robinson; former wife Marjorie Martin; and sister Marlene Zuber.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00pm; a funeral service will be held from 2:00 to 3:00pm followed by burial. All services will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
