Dec. 7, 2010, Gerovencio "Ben" Grate passed away peacefully under the gracious and loving care of his wife and family. Ben was born in the Philippines, Dec. 30, 1937. He immigrated to USA with his wife Aug. 30, 1969. He was employed by Westinghouse in 1970 as an senior international accountant. In 1994, Ben suffered a debilitating stroke and retired early after 24 years with Philips Lighting. In 2000, Ben and his wife retired happily in Henderson. Ben was a gardener and competitive senior golfer. Ben very much enjoyed world-travel adventures with his community of friends and church group. Ben lovingly enjoyed sharing his happiness with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Ermerita; four children, Maria, Geromel, Geraldine, and Evanne; and five grandchildren, Anjelika, Angelina, Kayla, Billy and Alex. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway.
