Gertrude Jane Kaufmann

Gertrude Jane Kaufmann was born April 9, 1931 in Scotland, South Dakota. At an early age her family relocated to California. She graduated from Chowchilla High School, Chowchilla, California. She attended Fresno State University for two years majoring in bookkeeping. Gertrude and Herman moved to Las Vegas where she has lived for over 55 years. Gertrude worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Tropicana Animal Hospital in Las Vegas. She was grateful for the opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed her job. Gertrude is survived by her cousin Karen (Bill) Van Gerpen, and their children, Shawn (Lisa) Van Gerpen and family, Laura (Bob) Slama and their family, stepdaughter Ree Zapharopolous, step granddaughter, Cammie Berry Gentry, step great grandchildren Amber Berry Webster, Cody Edge Berry, Jason Wiley, 5 step great- great grandchildren and a step niece Carol. Gertrude was preceded in death by her loving husband Herman, her parents ED and Antjie, two uncles John and Martin, one aunt Johanna, stepson Gary Kaufmann, stepdaughter Joanie Cohn, step-granddaughter Sherril Wiley.

A visitation for Gertrude will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A committal service will occur Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.A Life Well Lived
